Changing activities will diversify the muscles, joints, tendons and bones that get worked out on a regular basis, which may help keep overuse injuries at bay.
Moreover, many exercises are complementary to each other. For example, many runners find that yoga is a great way to stretch and tone the muscles while calming the mind, effects which often provide relief for marathoners. Yoga also promotes flexibility, which we all know prevents injury.
In addition to trying out new sports, exercises or styles of dance, individuals with foot conditions like bunions or hammer toe should consider using bunion splints and orthotics to help reduce deformities and avoid bunion surgery.
